A unique system of microfinancing has been evolved by the Sardarjis in Manila .The Sardarjis have tied up with several roadside restauranteurs for financing their working capital .Under the system the Sardarji lends the working capital for a day and collects the money back with interest at 24% p,a, at the end of the day . The motorcycle-borne Sardar hands over crisp peso notes at 10 a.m. to the hotelier who uses the money for buying the day's provisions which are stocked up well before the lunch time of the office-goers. By evening the hotelier has done his business and is in a position to repay the money to the lender when the latter returns in the evening.
